FLY CATCHER

The ingredient in the bait mainly attracts female flies. 80% of flies caught are female. We use the survival instinct of the fly to catch it. It basically needs to lay eggs and breath in order to survive. We provide specific conditions for the flies to lay their eggs. With regular use flies will decrease in an area as they are no longer breeding. A fly is attracted to the smell of the bait. It enters the trap and cannot escape. The bags holds up to 60-70, 000 flies.

The Fly Catcher is hung 6 to 7 feet above ground level and 15 yards away from ones home. On farms, place the traps 40 to 45 feet apart. The product should be hung out of sight as it is not a pleasant sight and can smell due to the dead flies. Do not place the trap near a compost heap or piles of manure as that creates compitition for the trap. The fly catcher will keep flies out of horse stables and away from any live stocks.

Disposal of the Fly Catcher:

When emptying the contents of the bag, cut it open and pour out the water. The rest of the contents can be placed into a second bag to be thrown away. Only replace and throw out the bag on garbage collection day as the smell is very unpleasant. The contents can be used for compost which is particularly good for roses. Another option is to pour the content into a hole dug in the ground which can be covered up with sand.

MORE ABOUT FLIES:
  • The life cycle of the common house fly is 9 to 11 days.
  • Flies lay between several hundred and one thousand eggs.
  • The eggs hatch after one day.
  • They go through the larva stage which lasts 4 to 5 days.
  • Then the pupa stage for 4 to 5 days.
  • Only then does the adult fly emerged.

~The components of the Fly Catcher ~

  • A turret through which the flies enter to get into the trap.
  • A cover dish which is the 'chassis' of the trap.
  • A mesh cone which stops the flies form escaping once inside the bag.
  • A bag which contains the bait and the caught flies.
  • A powdered bait which is mixed with the water within the trap. A sachet of bait lasts from four to six weeks before replacing is necessary. The bait is safe and contains no poisons or harmful chemicals.
